The Human Service Chamber and its members testified at a special hearing of Columbus City Council’s Health, Human Services, and Equity Committee about the state of the nonprofit sector on August 15th. You can review the full hearing here:
HSC’s Executive Director, Michael Corey, presented key findings from its recently completed 2024 state of the sector survey. And over a dozen HSC members testified as well, providing deeper insights into the challenges the sector is facing in our community.
“Demand and costs keep going up, and the workforce and dollars for nonprofits aren’t keeping up,” Michael Corey’s written testimony says. “That means people who need help aren’t getting help. As a community, we know that we can do better. We can choose to thrive as a community if we choose to act. If we invest as a community in our sector and in one another, then we can do so much good for so many.”
We will be updating this post with additional information from the hearing!
