Advocates Rally to Support Governor’s Budget, Condemn State Senate’s

On Monday, Advocates for Ohio’s Future led a press conference at the Ohio Statehouse featuring remarks from health and human services leaders across the state, including the Human Service Chamber, rallying support for Governor DeWine’s budget and condemning the State Senate’s version of the budget which was released last week.

As HSC’s Executive Director Michael Corey said at the outset of his remarks: “When I first saw a draft of this, it was so bad I thought it was a mistake. This benefits nobody. This hurts millions. This doesn’t make any sense. Send this back and do better.”

More press coverage is available here from WSYX 6.

The full press conference is available below, featuring remarks from Advocates for Ohio’s Future, the Ohio Association of Foodbanks, The Center for Community Solutions, the Ohio Federation of Teachers, Groundwork Ohio, Policy Matters Ohio, and Hunger Network in Ohio.
