The Human Service Chamber of Franklin County is proud to announce the addition of Communications Manager Bria Bennett and Sustainability Manager Rachael Beeman.

With a focus on providing expert support to our members on their messaging and sustainability practices, Bria and Rachael are tremendous additions who will work closely with and for this community’s health and human services nonprofits.

“We were looking for incredible people to fill these roles, and we found them in Bria and Rachael,” said Executive Director Michael Corey, who will be celebrating his sixth year at the agency later this month. “Their caliber as people and thinkers and doers will be evident immediately to our members, as we try and deepen our supports to the nonprofits in these two critical areas.”

The addition of communications and sustainability specialists is part of the Human Service Chamber’s investments in a suite of professional services, supported independently by The City of Columbus and The Columbus Foundation. Nonprofits seldom have the resources to sufficiently invest in the people they need to lead their messaging efforts. And given the myriad platforms through which nonprofits communicate their work–what they can do for our community, and what they need from our community to help others better–having a Communications Manager will be a tremendous asset. Similarly, the imperative of a Sustainability Manager leading efforts to pursue climate justice while also facilitating energy-efficient improvements to infrastructure and operations has never been more timely with the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act and the accelerating consequences of global warming and its disproportionate effects on the people nonprofits serve.

“Our excitement for all the good that Bria and Rachael will do is palpable,” said Corey, “and we’re so excited for the work they will do with and for our members in the months and years ahead.”
