We are seeking a creative, self-motivated individual to join our Marketing Team under the direction of the Marketing Director. The Social Media Coordinator will support the planning, creation, publishing, and performance of content across Freedom’s digital channels, with a strong emphasis on photography, content coordination, and social media execution. Working closely with the Marketing Director, this role will help maintain Freedom’s brand presence and create thoughtful, mission-aligned content that respectfully represents the vulnerable populations we serve.
This position is part-time with the ability to work a flexible and hybrid schedule after 90 days based on organizational needs. Hours may flex seasonally and around key campaigns, events, content shoots, and organizational priorities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support social media strategy and content creation across Freedom’s digital channels while maintaining consistent voice, visual identity, and mission alignment.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on social media performance; identify opportunities to strengthen engagement and conversion.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Director and cross-functional teams to support campaigns, storytelling, fundraising, and community engagement.
- Assist with digital ad creative and other marketing initiatives as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Content Creation + Social Media Management
- Capture and create photo, video, and written content across the organization, including café and catering operations, products, events, staff interactions, and community moments.
- Write engaging, brand-aligned copy and edit short-form video and reels for social media.
- Support content creation and publishing across social platforms.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Director on creative direction and campaign priorities.
- Participate in event coverage and occasional evening or weekend content capture.
Content Planning + Social Coordination
- Maintain content calendars and support campaign planning, scheduling, approvals, and publishing workflows.
- Coordinate with teams across the organization to gather stories, updates, and content opportunities.
- Monitor comments, messages, and community interactions across platforms.
- Support execution of campaign moments, fundraising initiatives, and organizational priorities.
Analytics + Performance Optimization
- Track and report monthly social media performance metrics and identify key insights.
- Help establish channel goals and make recommendations to improve engagement, reach, and conversion.
- Monitor audience trends and platform performance to inform future content decisions.
- Support reporting tied to awareness, fundraising, catering, and campaign objectives.
Creative Support + Brand Execution
- Support creation of simple social graphics and campaign assets as needed.
- Assist with digital advertising creative and other marketing initiatives.
- Organize and maintain Freedom’s content library and creative assets.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
We are looking for someone with passion and an ambitious desire to grow and develop personally and professionally.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required, with 1–3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience managing or contributing to social media channels for an organization, business, nonprofit, or brand.
- Strong eye for photography and visual storytelling.
- Experience creating and editing social content, including reels and short-form video.
- Familiarity with content calendars and project management systems preferred (Airtable, Monday, or similar tools).
- Experience using social media insights and analytics or willingness to learn.
- Strong writing, organization, and project management skills.
- Creative, collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working across departments and respectfully representing vulnerable populations and diverse lived experiences.
- Portfolio or examples of photography and/or social content encouraged and may be requested during later stages of the hiring process.
