Summary:
Working collaboratively with the Director of Advancement, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator will support the comprehensive communications and fundraising strategy for Huckleberry House, in order to increase awareness and contributed revenues from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other stakeholders. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will create materials, implement strategy, manage activities and support all advancement activities through a marketing and communications lens.

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Canva and other design software, website software and donor CRM software.
Major Responsibilities / Activities:
1. Provide strong and innovative marketing and communications recommendations and contribute to overall strategy of all activities of the Advancement office.
2. Develop and implement internal and external communication strategies that include the production of regular, electronic newsletters for staff and constituents and management of the organization’s blog.
3. Work across programs to craft stories that can be shared broadly through Huckleberry House’s communications platforms, in grant applications or in presentations.
4. Manage:
- Huckleberry House social media
- Huckleberry House website
- third party vendor relationships for design and printing of Huckleberry House materials generally and the marketing and communications materials needed for advancement activities
5. Provide brand management support across the organization and its programs and assist with materials creation for programs as needed.
6. Create all marketing and communications strategies and materials for Huckleberry House events, including but not limited to:
- Sleep Out!
- Light Up the House
- Holiday cookie and gift drives
- Youth awards program
The Marketing & Communications coordinator will also participate in the planning and execution of events, including attending and documenting the activities for communications.
7. Pitch relevant stories to local, regional and national press; implement press advisories and alerts for Huckleberry House events and activities. Assist with the implementation of the marketing, public relations, advertising and promotional strategy for the organization.
8. Support volunteer activities and the processing of in-kind gifts as needed by the advancement office.
9. Support donor cultivation and stewardship activities.
Education, Credentials and Qualifications:
- 2- or 4- year degree in non-profit administration, business,Communications, liberal arts or related field
or
- 1-3 years of related experience in marketing and communications
Working Conditions and Physical requirements:
Shelter/office environment. May require ability to sit, move about, climb stairs and operate telephone and personal computer for extended periods of time. May work a non-standard work week, including evenings and weekends. Must have a valid driver’s license.
