Position Summary
Coordinates the pre-award planning, organization, and preparation, and the post-award administration of various grants assigned to one or more programs and/or departments of CUL. Interacts with the Finance/Compliance & Advancement staff to ensure grants are in compliance with regulatory, funding agency, and policy requirements. Provides guidance and support to Program and Advancement staff in the identification and development of grant opportunities.
This role works closely with staff assigned to various departments/programs.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Prepares and compiles all components of each grant submission, ensuring that the proposal is formatted, packaged, and submitted in accordance with granting agency requirements.
· Develops and maintains specialized databases and systems for recording and tracking grant proposals, awards, and related information; creates and distributes standard and special reports, summaries, and analyses, as required.
· Develops and maintains a library of reference documentation, including such information as funding agency requirements and forms, standard grant language, abstracts and reference literature, and other pertinent material.
· Provides advice and guidance to Program and Advancement staff on the application of grant funding policies, regulations, and procedures; facilitates and supports the research and identification of funding opportunities on behalf of Program and Advancement staff, as appropriate.
· Maintains knowledge of grant funding policies, regulations, and procedures; disseminates and/or presents changes to departments and advises on the implementation of changes, and on the impact of changes on funded operations.
· Coordinates internal pre-award planning meetings and keeps regular communication with key internal stakeholders
· Maintains grant calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines and reports (other reporting and management documents as required).
· Work with Advancement staff to conduct prospect research – and prepare prospect reports.
· Prioritize projects to keep multiple projects moving in a timely manner, meet deadlines and manage supplemental material required for proposals.
· Collaborates with Programs and Advancement staff to obtain and provide current program data, statistics and local statistics for grant content.
· Research data for populations served including needs, trends and other resources in the area.
· Proofreads funding documents; serves as reviewer/editor of draft grant submissions submitted by Program & Advancement staff.

Job Requirements Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as public administration, public policy, public relations, political science, or related discipline
· 2 or more years of experience in grant writing is highly preferred
· Experience working in a non-profit environment is a plus
· Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources
· Excellent writing and editing skills
· Excellent skills in research and synthesizing
· Ability to be discreet with personal information that may be needed for some grants such as employee salaries or upcoming projects.
