HSC Partners with Nonprofit VOTE to Promote Voter Engagement in Central Ohio

A recent study has revealed that Americans trust nonprofit organizations more than any other institution, including religious institutions, businesses, and governmental bodies.

Because of this high level of trust, nonprofits can play a critical role in providing accurate information regarding voter registration and education. This is why HSC has partnered with Nonprofit VOTE to support local nonprofits’ voter engagement efforts throughout Central Ohio.

Nonprofit VOTE aims to encourage voter participation and engagement in democratic processes. Its primary goal is to strengthen democracy by ensuring all eligible citizens have access to the necessary information, resources, and voting opportunities. Nonprofit VOTE offers a resource library with webinars, blogs for nonprofits, and guidance on permissible election activities within 501(c)(3) charitable organization boundaries.

HSC and Nonprofit VOTE have teamed up to provide training, technical support, and voter education materials to the following member agencies through the November 2023 election:

  • Community Development for All People;
  • Elevate Northland;
  • Mid-Ohio Food Collective; and
  • The Royal Oak Initiative.

These agencies are committed to finding different ways to engage voters and provide resources to their communities about how to vote. Our partnership empowers these agencies to increase voter registration, turnout, and civic engagement, particularly in the communities our members are serving. Our ultimate goal is to promote a more inclusive and participatory democracy where every voice is heard and counted.
