In February 2020, in our first public comments on the Coronavirus, we were mourning instances of hate speech in an area school: Children were playing “Coronavirus Tag,” where all the students of Asian American descent were being targeted.
Over the course of the year, hate crimes against against Asian Americans soared.
And last night, we saw the most disturbing act of hate yet.
We’re mortified at the apparent hate crimes in Atlanta, targeting Asian American women at three businesses in Georgia.
Our deepest condolences are with the friends and families of those who were murdered.
We pray that justice may be thorough and swift.
